Mock DUI

On April 21, 2006 in conjunction with Grand Valley High School Students, Parachute Police Department, Garfield County Sheriffs Office, Colorado State Patrol, and the Grand Valley Fire Protection District, staged a Mock Motor Vehicle Accident. Fellow classmates acted out the simulation of a Motor Vehicle fatality accident involving an impaired driver. The simulation illustrated to the students the ramifications involved when driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. After the demonstration, the students moved into the Gymnasium where representatives from the agencies involved gave a speech about the long-term affects of tragedies similar to this. The students then participated in some activities and games.
