Jacob started with the Fire District in 2009.

Jacob began his fire education in 2004 at Aims Community college in Greely Colorado to pursue a degree in the fire service. While in Greeley he volunteered for the Milliken Fire Protection District. between 2005-2008 and with the Evans Fire Department  from 2006-2007. In Greeley he was also an Emergency room Technician from 2006-2009 at Northern Colorado Medical Center. He then moved to Dillon, Co. where he was a resident firefighter with Lake Dillon Fire Rescue from 2006-2009 and an Emergency room Tech at Keystone Medical Clinic from 2008-2009. He was hired full time by Grand Valley Fire in in 2009 and currently works part-time for Rifle Fire Protection District as a firefighter EMT-B.
